Why shouldn’t we put our faith in our abilities? Isn’t it true that, at the end of the day, it is up to me, not God, to carry out my responsibilities?
Isn’t it also true that pinning our hopes on God makes us more reliant? Isn’t it true that having faith in our ability makes us more self-reliant?

I’d like to think that there are no ‘shoulds’; we’re free to choose any perspective that serves us. If you feel ‘having faith in your abilities’ is a better way to live, please go ahead with that. The post here just meant to share my understanding of Gurbani’s perspective.
