We need to understand our God better. If our God loves us conditionally, how will we ever be able to love unconditionally. If our God judges us, how will we ever be able to grow beyond judgment.
This is also relevant for my Sikh brothers and sisters who think that God is going to punish them or not love them. When we are told “Fareeda bure da bhala kar” (Be good to bad people), how can our God punish the bad ones?
Guru Nanak or God is beyond judgment and is pure unconditional love. It is we who judge ourselves in this world and beyond. Why do we judge ourselves? Because we judge others. Unless we stop judging others, we cannot stop judging ourselves. Why? Because all there is is One.
