Very recently, I have developed a very intriguing understanding of “Spiritual power”.
For some time now, I have been really amazed, intrigued and confounded by the fact that this universe has been created by love. Not by some being. But by love. My mind really blows over when I try to comprehend this understanding that God, who created this entire cosmos, is not just loving but love itself.
Playing with this understanding and the subsequent understanding that we are all one and connected since all there is is God or love or Shabad or Nam (as we say in Gurbani), I also thought of spiritual power.
Bauji, the founder of Dodra Sangat, has written in one of his writings that there is no power except spiritual power. All mental, physical, or cosmic powers are reflections of spiritual power. It makes sense since there is nothing except God.
Now, what is power?
Power is an ability to make things happen. Right?
Now, if we all are connected, and we are all love, at our soul or real level, we all love each other. This love, when it passes through the colored glass of our mind, may become something else when it manifests, but at the real level, it is love.
Now, if I am spiritually connected to my true self and thus, to the true self of everybody else (since we are all one), I can say lovingly to the river “stop here for a while”, and since the river loves me, it will stop. Similarly, I can heal anybody by asking some of the cells to stop behaving in a particular way and since they all love me too, they’ll do that.
Similarly, a person who is spiritually connected can do anything in this world since he loves everybody and everything and vice-versa. To the outer world, it may seem that he possesses these amazing powers, but to him, it would be just lovingly talking to other parts of his essence.
Isn’t it amazing to understand power (true power) in this way?

Great article, I started doing path by learning how sukhmani sahib can bring peace and since my dad is an alcoholic, doing path brought peace in house. But things were never 100% right, and still is not. However, the more pain I go through the merrier I feel connected to waheguru ji. I have developed a huge interest in spirituality because of the suffering. It kinda remind me a question, I read a book about how we chose our life before we came on this planet, we chose our circumstances and our family to pay karmic debts. Does gurbani says that too, that we chose most of our hardship? I do feel I have been blessed because my interest in spirituality, but I do feel discourage when I look at the materialistic aspect of my life. Sorry I am rambling now lol. But great article. Thank you
