I have observed that the number of relatives or friends surrounding a person is inversely proportional to the magnitude of the adversity in his or her life. The greater the adversity i.e. the more you need help, the fewer the people around you.
A true friend – a person who’ll be there even in the worst of the circumstances – probably doesn’t exist in this world.
What is the point in clinging to the people who exist only when the circumstances are favorable and disappear when the need arises? Why not seek the shelter of the One who’ll always be there, through all thick and thin? Why not love the One who takes care of us as a mother takes care of her children and never forsakes us?
